Ladies Golf Notes
Thursday, July 12, 2012 • Posted July 12, 2012

The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met July 5, 2012 for play day with the Chair for July, Sandee Hartley, calling for the annual Flag Day Tournament play. Each lady had an American flag with her handicap posted on the flag and she was allowed to play to that number and then she had to plant her flag. It’s always moving to see the American flags planted on the golf course. First Place went to Janet Hoyt, who had two strokes left when she finished the 18th hole and also scored the Low Net for the day, and Hattie Rogers was second as she had one stroke left at the end of the 18th hole. Hattie had a great day scoring the Low Gross for the day and winning the Putt Pot. Dorothy Sterner was a close 3rd place. This is an annual event and our way of saying “God Bless America”! Pat Ribb joined the ladies for lunch and fun. This was the date for the monthly business meeting but our constitution calls for six ladies to make a quorum. This will have to be changed, as we are now so small in numbers. At the time the constitution was written we had over 30 ladies playing golf. This will be changed on July 12, 2012 when we have our July business meeting. Texas is hot! The San Saba River Golf Course is hot! Golfing is hot! So what! It’s great to be healthy and ‘swinging!’
