Sapopa Jimenez Ortiz, 80, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012 in Lampasas, Texas. She was born February 19, 1932 in Falls City, Texas. The daughter of Leopoldo and Romana Jimenez, she met and married Rene B. Ortiz, Sr. on July 13, 1956. She was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church and Ladies of St. Mary’s.Sapopa is survived by four sons, Rene and Esther Ortiz, Jr., of Houston, Gabriel and Shari Ortiz of California, Jose and Glenda Ortiz, Martin and Betty Ortiz of San Saba; daughter, Mary Ann Mendez of California; five grandsons, Javier R. and Julie Ortiz, III of Houston, Mario Ortiz of Cedar Park, Juan Morales of Marble Falls, Ramiro Mendez, Jr., of California, Enrique L. Ortiz of Kentucky; three granddaughters, Angelica R. and Ash Anderson, of Killeen, Nickie Ortiz of San Saba, and Amanda C. and Rowan Pedersen of California; four great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.Sapopa is preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, four brothers, three sisters and one daughter.Visitation was held on Monday, July 2, 2012 from 5:00—7:00 PM with Rosary at 7:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Services were held on Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Interment was at Hillcrest Cemetery.
