TxDOT is planning to close the bridge on C.R. 340 over the San Saba River in San Saba County and begin demolition work on Wednesday, July 11, 2012. The contractor is Ellis-McGinnis Construction out of Eddy, TX. The work at this location should take approximately 1.5 months. TxDOT will be removing the old concrete structure and replacing it with a new slab span beam bridge with concrete approaches. This bridge will be constructed along with a bridge at C.R. 550 over Blanket Creek in Mills County. The C.R. 550 bridge does not require a road closure.
