Ladies Golf Notes

The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met June 28, 2012 for play day with the Chair for June, Jo Anne Hardy, calling for the old game we use to play years ago “String”. Each player was given a string with the number of feet of her handicap. This string was to be used wisely. You could use it to make a putt or get away from a tree or any where you had a problem. You just had to cut off the string until it was all gone. Some of the workers were most curious as the ladies were on their knees with their sissors cutting string all day around the golf hole. It was a fun game. First Place went to Sandee Hartley, Second to Anita Miles, and Third to Jo Ann Snow. Janet Hoyt scored the Low Net with her string and Anita Miles and Jo Anne Hardy both had birdies with their string. Sandee Hartley had a real birdie and won the ‘Chip In Pot’ and the ‘Low Putt Pot’. Great day for Sandee! Hattie Rogers was after the putt pot being beat by only one putt and Dorothy Sterner was just slightly out of the game prizes. Pat Ribb came down to watch the action and join the ladies for lunch. The ladies will be playing on July 5, probably with their annual Flag Tournament. HAPPY JULY 4, 2012! Be safe and have a happy holiday with your loved ones and then it’s back to “swinging!”
