It seems summer weather has now arrived as this past weekend it was really too warm out and Monday was no different. Everyone is still hoping for rain.The Bend News will not be in the next edition of the San Saba news as Jo will be taking next week off, but there should be plenty of news after the 4th. Hope everyone has a safe July 4, and takes in some of the fireworks that will be available for everyone’s enjoyment.Lola Morris spent a couple of days last week in the Rollins-Brooke hospital in Lampasas and is now at home recuperating.Michael and Gennifer Brister along with their sons Dillon and Dean spent some time in Corpus Christi last week. Michael and Gennifer were celebrating their 11 wedding anniversary and the boys went along to enjoy the ocean and other points of interest that was available. They built sand castles on the beach, toured the USS Lexington, and the Texas State Aquarium. While at the aquarium they held a sea urchin, watched a dolphin show and got to pet a dolphin. On the way home they spent the night in Fredericks-burg and the boys got to swim in the pool. They arrived home in time to save a baby lamb from some buzzards. The momma had died and left a pair of twins, they were able to catch one, but the other one got away. Now they are busy taking care of a new member of the family which Dillon named “Lucky,” because she is lucky to be alive.Bill and Jo Price attended a workshop in Belton Friday to acquire the additional hours of training that is required in order to be an Ombudsman.Fannie Crawford suffered a mild stroke and is in the Health South Rehabilitation hospital in Austin, located at 215 Red River.
