Commissioners hear County Indigent Report

The San Saba County Commissioners Court was held on Monday, June 25th in the County Judge’s Chambers at l:30 p.m. County Judge, Byron Theodosis called the Court to order and welcomed everyone. Commissioner, Rickey Lusty gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.Marsha Hardy, County Coordinator/Indigent Director, gave a report about the Indigent program stating the funds allocated for the program have been depleted. The program will not have any funds until October 1, 2012 when the new fiscal year begins and funds available as budgeted.The Court deliberated, discussed or took action on the following items:1. Approved terminating the current San Saba EMS Education Program with Texas Department of State Health Services, License Number 600080; as the new Director has chosen a different Program.2. Discussed some people to contact to fill the vacancy on the San Saba County EMS Advisory Committee.3. After getting the opinion of each Commissioner about the conditions of the county for a Burn Ban, it was decided to table the issue for the next meeting.4. Approved paying bills given to the Court by County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins with the exception of the payment to Parsons Commercial Roofing until the work is completed on the Courthouse Annex. Treasurer Hawkins discussed the bill from San Saba Printing.5. Set the date of Tuesday, July 10th at 9 a.m. for the next Commissioners Court.6. There will be a Budget Meeting for county officials Tuesday, July 3rd, 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. 7. Otis Judkins reported that the Appraisal Districts Budget Hearing has been changed to July 11th at 8:30 a.m.Judge Theodosis adjourned the meeting at 2:10 p.m. Attending the Court were: County Judge, Byron Theodosis; County Commissioners, Pat Pool, Kenley Kroll, Rickey Lusty, Otis Judkins; County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins; County Clerk, Kim Wells; County Coordinator/Indigent Director, Marsha Hardy; Justice of the Peace, Judge Les Dawson; Administrative Assistant, Cathi Miles; San Saba News & Star Reporter, Alice Smith.
