Annual Oliver Reunion held June 9 and 10

In the mid 1870s, Andrew, Mark and Polk Oliver moved to San Saba county. One brother, John M. Oliver remained in Williamson County. The descendants of the four brothers met at Harmony Ridge on June 9 and 10, 2012 for their annual reunion.On Saturday, a small group met to discuss genealogy. That evening the Harmony Ridge Cemetery Association met for its annual meeting followed by 65 family and friends enjoying fried fish with all the trimmings prepared by Marlis Oliver and crew.Sunday morning devotional was presented by President, Jarrett Oliver. The oldest at the reunion was 98 year old Elsie Millican. Youngest was 18 month old Asher Jennings. Traveling the farthest was Shannon Oliver of Seabrook, Texas. Approximately 100 attended the barbeque lunch. Barbeque was prepared by Marlis Oliver.Registering were Allen and Maxine Newman of Temple; Mike Millican of Brownwood; Mary Ann and Leonard Oliver, Worth and Bobbie Wood and Danny, Annette, Brantley and Trenton Oliver of San Antonio; Charles and Pam Oliver of Waxahachie; Shannon Oliver of Seabrook; DiAnne Scott, John and Ann Altizer and Jody, Lexi and Laci Wagner of Cherokee; Mike and Beth Grimes of Moody; Kay Thompson of Bend; Danna, Nena and Cory Hoover of Burnet; Leo, Roe Ann and Tesla Estevez of Rowlett; Thomas, Jacob and Grace Wood of Denton; Jarrett Oliver of Leander; Bruce Oliver Sr. of Martindale; Hope Oliver, Steve Kovich and Donna Guthrie of Dallas; John, Jean and Ron Barfield of Hurst; Jeanne and Kiley Horak of North Richland Hills; Cody and Lori Oden of Weatherford; Joe and Helen Oliver of Sweetwater; Marlis, Heather, Baker, Jackson and Charlie Oliver, Vicki and Stacy Oliver; Guy, Samuel and Shay Oliver and Jason Oliver of Austin; Robert and Kay Maddox and Willie Mae Shahan of Lometa; Kasey and Elizabeth Mock of San Marcos; Gideon, Kristi and Asher Jennings of Abbott; Jeanne, Gwynn and Lynda Gurski of Houston; Alicia and Trey Ferguson and Wes, Amy and Sam Ferguson of Belton; Scotty and Juanette Oliver of Cedar Park; Jim and Pam Spivey and Lynn Judkins of Richland Springs.Attending from San Saba were Elsie Millican, Steve and Monette Burke, Ted and Klela Red, Una Oliver, Kevin, Monica, Madison and Gracen Shahan, Clydene Oliver, Shawn, Nancy and Holt Oliver, Bob and Debbie Millican and Buddie and Bettie Oliver.
