Praise the Lord it is raining! Big angry swirling crowds are rolling all over heaven and the rain is pouring down. I hope it stays that way for hours. I can see that many communities in the area are getting a wonderful blessing. Speaking of blessings, I have my two beautiful granddaughters for the week. We have been hard at work preparing for the remarriage of my youngest step-daughter Christine. We’re in charge of the decorations and food, so we’ve been busy. We’re getting calls from our scattered children wishing their dad a happy Father’s Day.Tomorrow we are heading for Inks Lake State Park for a day of fishing and swimming. I really don’t care what the weather is like just so long as there is no lightening. Tuesday we are going to try to repair the front yard. Glen left his mark on my heart, but he left an even greater mark on my yard! I’ll have to bring some dirt in to fill in the many holes he left behind. I’m pleased to see they are full of water right now from the rain.I missed the fundraiser on Saturday. Coach Burkhart said it went very well. They had a good turnout and one of the dodge ball teams was headed up by a celebrity football player. I’m not sure if they raised all the money they needed for their equipment wish list. I know the boys are all anxious to get started on next year’s championship run. I don’t know if it is expecting too much to have our boys win year after year, but that doesn’t stop the expectation. Good luck everyone. I know coach will work you hard enough to make sure you are at least physically ready for the challenge.Bernice has been busy this week taking care of her brother. H.B. Adams was involved in an accident and is in ICU. He will need his sister’s care for quite a while as he recovers. We have several others recovering from either surgery or illness. Please keep them in your prayers.I need to remind everyone about the Starr/Locker wedding on Friday at the First Baptist Church in Richland, The wedding will start at 7:00 p.m. so guests should arrive before that time. There will also be a ladies luncheon on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at The Father’s House. Recently published author Amanda Brand will be one of the speakers. This promises to be an inspiring event.VBS will be Sunday, July 29th through Thursday, August 2nd. It’s about time to sign up for youth camp as well. Contact Brother Barry if you are interested in attending camp this year. It’s also time for the big 4th of July celebration as well. This year it will be on the 7th. If you are willing and able to help that Saturday, please contact Ginger Skelton to volunteer your assistance. I regret to say I will be out of town attending my Christine’s wedding.July is a much quieter month than June, and I can’t believe we are this far along through the month. I spoke with some of the kids at church on Sunday and they are worried that summer is going away too quickly. I’m in class through the month of July so that will kill another month. I’m desperately trying to enjoy every day, but they just seem to be slipping away. The rain has faded away, but the cool left behind is very refreshing. This week’s column is a little short. Between the kids keeping me busy and getting the decorations ready for the wedding, I’m a little short on news. I want to say thank you to all the people who have asked about Glen. I’m glad you have enjoyed our little adventures. We will do this again, but it will be a while before I take this project on a second time. Please pray for our government, our President and our country. Please remember our precious troops and their families. If you want a good book to read try the Harbinger by J Cahn. What a super story. Have a great week everyone.
