JoAnn Jane Jones, 88, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at Llano Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 11, 1924, to William Walters and wife, Augusta Card Walters in Akron, Ohio. She later married William Henry Jones on December 24, 1943 in Boise, Idaho. They had two children, Lawrence Jones and Kathy Cushing.JoAnn lived a long, full life. Among the many things she loved to do was travel, sew, cook, and be with her grandchildren. She traveled many places over the years with friends and family. She was an avid seamstress making many formals with dress coats to match for her daughter to wear to the many functions in school. There wasn’t much she wouldn’t tackle with a sewing machine, needle and thread. She loved her grandchildren and loved to be with them.Survivors of JoAnn include her son, Lawrence Jones and wife, Barbara, of Stephenville; her daughter, Kathy Cushing and husband, Joe, of Granbury; her grandchildren, Jennifer Franklin of Dripping Springs; Erin Jones of Athens; Toby Cushing of Denver, Colorado; and Bryan Murff and wife, Shelley, of Carthage. Her great grandchildren include, Jessica and Julie Cannon, Bailey Murff, Sheldon Murff, and Tea Cushing. She was very fond of her cousin, Don Renz of Houston.Her husband, William Henry Jones, her parents, William and Augusta Walters, her brother, Sonny Walters, and her grandson, Coy Murff preceded Jo Ann in death.Graveside services were held at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster, Texas, on June 15, 2012, at 2:00 PM.Please view Mrs. Jones’s online memorial at: www.heritagefuneraltx.comServices are under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home—San Saba.
