Leslie J. Young, 66, of San Saba passed away on June 15, 2012. Leslie was born on October 1, 1945 to Leslie T. Young and Jewel Riggs. He was a life- long resident of San Saba. Leslie joined the Air Force on May 18, 1965 and fought in the Vietnam conflict. He was in the Air Force until May 17, 1971 when he came back to San Saba and began working as a mechanic on cars and trucks. He loved to fish and spent many hours on the river banks fishing. Survivors include daughters, Christie Perez and husband, Eugene, of San Saba; Sabrina Smith and husband, Reagan, of San Saba; and Cindy Kelly of Goldthwaite; son, Brent Young and wife, Rosalie, of Llano; grandchildren, Kaysha, Amber, Kaytlin, Miranda, Lauren, Christopher and Austin; brothers, Oliver Young, Ray Riggs and Don Riggs; sisters, Annie Faye Galloway, Sally Steger, Josie Andrus, Jeanie Smith and Pam Riggs; and numerous nieces and nephews.Leslie was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Young; his parents, Leslie Young and Jewel Riggs; step-dad, Lee Riggs; son, George Jones; grandson, Nicholas Fuentes; and brothers, Archie Riggs and Jackie Riggs.A private family memorial is planned at a later date.In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Lighthouse Hospice, 107 Park Drive, Early, Texas 76802.Arrangements were under the direction of Heritage Funeral Home.
