Summer’s in full swing! We’ve got kids at basketball camp, tennis camp, church camp and more! The school is hopping with activity between summer school, students working, and interviews taking place. Vacation Bible School at the Baptist Church was a success last week. I think we averaged about 50 kids each night! For those of us working with ages we aren’t use to it was challenging! Who knew teaching three to six year olds was so hard?! Boy, did they teach me! I was amazed at their ability to learn the memory verses so quickly. Basketball camp was also a success! Coach Lasley and Coach John did a great job teaching our youngsters fundamental skills! I know one little girl who loves basketball even more and that makes this Momma happy!

For those of you looking for things for your kids to do this summer I’ll be posting upcoming events in and around our area. I’m sure none of you have heard, “I’m bored” and “There’s nothing to do” yet, but just in case let’s work together to keep them active! Be sure to send me pictures, too!

Upcoming events:

June 11-16 Mission San Saba (see Patience Shanklin for details)

June 25-28 4-H Sewing Camp at San Saba’s Home Economics building.

San Saba pool is open Tuesday-Sunday 1-6 p.m.
