Dear Editor:

As a member of the Stars-n-Stripes Committee in Richland Springs, I can say we are hard at work getting ready for our little towns' biggest celebration of the year. For those of you that have attended, you know what fun, family activities we have going on all day, culminating with a spectacular fire works display. Last year we had a terrific turnout, despite the fact that the drought forced us to cancel them.

I am writing this to get the word out that we are in need of volunteers to help our committee. We will be meeting Thursday at 7 p.m. at the City Park by the Fire Station. There is alot left to do, and we have lost several beloved members in the last few years. We want to invite any and everyone who wants to participate or just watch the parade starting at 9 a.m. Put together a float, saddle your horse, decorate your 4-wheeler or bicycle and march with us. If you are a vendor, we offer free space, first come, first serve. It's a good opportunity for school or organizations to raise funds as well.

But most of all, we want you to come join us to celebrate the birthday of our great country and the fellowship of a wonderful community on July 7th, beginning at 9 a.m.

Any questions, please call me at 325-372-1495.

Sincerely,

Carol Bryant

Richland Springs, TX
