Congratulations to Keith Harris! Keith, our pro at the San Saba River Golf Course, was among the forty-four graduates who recently advanced through the PGA Professional Golf Management Program. The PGA enables its professionals to maximize their performance in their respective career paths and showcases them as experts in the game and in the multi-billion dollar golf industry. The PGA brand represents the very best in golf! We are proud of Keith and what his presence means to our golf course. The San Saba River Golf Course was blessed when he chose our course and San Saba to make his home and raise his family. One of the benefits is that he has a pass to all PGA tournaments, so I reminded him of what good friends we are. Only four ladies, Hattie Rogers, Jo Ann Snow, Dorothy Sterner, and Anita Miles, showed up for play day on May 24, 2012 but it didn’t matter. They had a great fun day in the sun and Pat Ribb joined them for lunch and watched a few holes of golf. Anita Miles took Low Gross and Low Putts, Hattie Rogers Low Net, and Dorothy Sterner chipped in to win the Chip In Pot. The San Saba River Golf Course was the scene for the annual Alumni Annual meeting on May 26, 2012. The president, Keith Shahan, conducted the meeting and plans were made for the coming year. It was a beautiful place for the meeting. There were so many conflicts, the annual golf tournament was canceled for now but will be rescheduled in the fall. It’s always surprising to go to our golf course and see so many out of town groups that come for miles, year after year, to play in San Saba. The San Saba River Golf Course is a real asset to the city of San Saba. If you visit with the groups they will share with you the many years they’ve been coming and how they love San Saba and our course. You just never get tired of ‘swinging!’
