The Little Blueberry Plants
Thursday, May 31, 2012 • Posted May 31, 2012

Recently I was in a store when I noticed stuck back on a shelf some little plastic bags with some dried up plants sticking out of the top of them. They were about to throw them out so I made a small offer for them and they took it. I took the little plants home and immediately opened the bags and inside the potting soil was dry as powder so I got the garden hose and watered them. Surprisingly, some lived even though they all seemed dead. Seeing those little plants reminded me of something in the Bible. We all have a place in our being for the spirit of God to permanently dwell, (Romans 8:9&10). When Adam and Eve sinned not only did it separate them from God but all of mankind that was to follow, (1 Corinthians 15:22). God provided a way for that relationship to be restored and that was by the life, death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, (John 3:16). The Bible says we are dead in our sins and we need to be brought back to life, (Ephesians 2:1-3). The only way that can be done is through trusting in Jesus Christ, (1 John 5:12, Romans 8:11). When we call upon and acknowledge who He is and ask Him to forgive our sins we are born again or anew from above, (John 3:3&7, 5:21, 1 Peter 1:3&23). See you in Church next Sunday.
