Sara Hedley brings home the Bronze

On May 21-22, Sara Hedley, Richland Springs High School senior, participated in the UIL State Meet in Lincoln-Douglas Debate at the University of Texas in Austin. After all the contests were complete, there were sixty top debaters left in the state of Texas in Conferences AAAA-AA. There were twelve debaters left in Conference A. On Monday, Sara won all of her rounds, taking out every opponent 3-0. On Tuesday, during the last match, Sara was defeated by Katlyn Delp of Lometa who took the gold in 2010, the silver in 2011, and for the second time in her high school career, the gold in 2012.Sara is the daughter of Mark and Michelle Hedley, the reigning San Saba County Pecan Queen, RSHS Homecoming Queen, RSHS Valedictorian, vice-president of the senior class and has won many awards in One Act Play, including Best Actress. Sara has participated in and won many awards in other UIL and 4-H activities.
