San Saba County Extension Education Club May Event

The San Saba Extension Education Club’s May Event was held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at the San Saba Civic Center at Mill Pond Park. There were approximately 50 to 60 guests and members present at this annual presentation. The program was named “Totally Texas” and was enjoyed by all participants.The first program was presented by Valerie Cortinovic who presented a very delightful and interesting demonstration “All about Spinning” showing various types of wool and yarn. Thereafter she demonstrated spinning wool on her very interesting spinning wheel.The second topic presented was a unique and very enlightening talk from Mike McHenry regarding the San Saba Wine Cellars. Mike gave a very informative history of wine making here in Texas and America over the past 200 years. Dora Miller narrated a terrific and very attractive style show featuring fashion’s from Harry’s of San Saba. The gorgeous and very pretty outfits were modeled by beautiful beauties from San Saba 4-H Club.After the style show Garrett Radliff performed with a wonderful guitar and vocal presentation. Everyone enjoyed all of the program and entertainment. Afterwards, our Cultural Arts Exhibit winners were announced after a delicious home cooked lunch was served. Many thanks to all of the ladies that worked so very hard to make this a huge success. And also thanks to the ladies of Lometa, Lampasas and Burnet and several other towns and of course all of the people in San Saba that purchased items in the Silent Auction. All of the proceeds from the Silent Auction will be used to benefit the San Saba 4-H Club.
