22nd Annual Seniors Banquet held at San Saba Masonic Lodge

.On Monday, April 30th, the Freemasons of San Saba, Order of Eastern Star & the Scottish Rite Club hosted their annual Seniors Banquet. The 2012 senior classes of Cherokee, Richland Springs and San Saba high schools were in attendance. Eighty-six people were present and enjoyed a meal of fried fish, fries and hushpuppies. Chief cook was Richard Smith assisted by Joe Ragsdale, Roger Verette and Ronnie Vaughn.After supper and introductions, the program was presented by State Representative Sid Miller of Stephenville, who addressed the graduating seniors about the challenges ahead for young Texans as they leave home and enter into the working world.Three $1,000 scholarships accompanied with the Lamar Medal were presented by Jan K. Huffstetler, representing the lodge and Ann Alston, representing the Order of the Eastern Star. The retiring or retired teachers each received a $25.00 gift.

The San Saba Scottish Rite Freemasons awarded a $500 scholarship, which was presented by Club President, John D. Rhoades, 32°.

The retired teachers each received a Pike Medal and a $25 gift.
