Thursday, May 10, 2012 • Posted May 10, 2012

On April 14 our Middle School Tennis Team after 3 days of practice played in the Lampasas tennis tournament. Teams in the tournament were San Saba, Lampasas, Copperas Cove, Marble Falls, Brownwood and Brady. We competed well considering the lack of practice as the other teams had been practicing since Sept. 1 or February 20. Serita Vega won the consolation medal in 8th grade girls singles over teammate Hollee Ragsdale. On April 27-28 we played in a very tough Mason Team Tournament. Teams at the tournament were Mason, Lampasas, Copperas Cove, Fredericksburg, Kerrville and San Saba. Although we lost all three matches to Mason, Fredericksburg and Copperas Cove our players improved a lot from the Lampasas Tournament. This past weekend on May 5 the Middle School played in the District 6-AA Tennis Tournament at Early High School. Our kids did a great job bringing home 12 medals. In the 8th grade girls singles Micah Cox won 1st place, Hollee Ragsdale won 2nd place, Erin Sanders won 3rd place and Amy Sanders came in 4th place. In 8th grade girls doubles, Katie Ingram and Serita Vega won 1st place. In 8th grade boys singles Reigan Casco came in 4th place. Omar Agrote and Roy Argote won 1st place in boys doubles. In 7th grade girls singles Abigail Ingram won second place. In 7th grade girls doubles Katlynn Blackshear and Erika Vega came in 2nd place. In 7th grade boys doubles Kutter Isham and Wyatt Dean came in 3rd place. The Middle School Girls team were the district team champions and the Boys team finished second behind Early. Playing on the Middle School Tennis Team were Micah Cox, Hollee Ragsdale, Erin Sanders, Amy Sanders, Katie Ingram, Serita Vega, Mykah Mc-Kinnerney, Maddie Nettleship, Katlynn Blackshear, Brooke Nagel, Abigail Ingram, Erika Vega, Reigan Casco, Omar Agrote, Roy Agrote, Kutter Isham, Wyatt Dean, Holt Oliver, and John Watson.
