Fellowship of Christian Women to hold luncheon May 17th
Thursday, May 10, 2012 • Posted May 10, 2012

Next Thursday, May 17th, Fellowship of Christian Women will be gathering in Cherokee for “May Favorites” Luncheon beginning at 11:30 a.m. Ladies of the First Baptist Church in Cherokee give the ladies of the county a very special invitation to come and share one of your favorite recipes around the serving tables. Our youngest ladies in their 20’s will be treated this month. A nursery can be available for pre-schoolers only, by phoning Sharon Hayes to make arrangements. Do bring food for your children if you want them to eat during the luncheon. Please mark your calendars for ONE WEEK EARLY, due to graduation activities. Mrs. Pam Durst from Llano has agreed to share a talk she has titled, “ Anna, the Prophetess.” There are only 4 verses in our Bible about Anna, however, the facts are very instructive. Anna is a wonderful example of Christian character. Her prayer life, self-denial, and steadfast trust in God’s promises illustrate for us today the character of a holy woman. Pam teaches a women’s Bible class at her church and is currently the coordinator for the Llano Women’s Bible Study groups. She enjoys speaking at women’s retreats and facilitating Bible Studies. After 25 years in the field of social work, she retired to Llano to live on a ranch. Her favorite activity is visiting children and grandchildren. Hope you will make your plans to come next Thursday to hear this precious teacher share from her heart.
