74th Annual San Saba County Pro. Rodeo planned for June 1st & 2nd
Thursday, May 10, 2012 • Posted May 10, 2012

The 74th Annual San Saba County Professional Rodeo is scheduled for June 1st and 2nd and the Rodeo Parade is returning to the 5:00 p.m. time on opening day of the rodeo. This year's theme is RETRO: Remembering the Good Old Days and it is the hope of the Parade Chairman, Sandy McHorse, that every business, club, bicycle and motorcycle group, church, golf cart owner, cowboy and cowgirl, whether original or drugstore, will participate. There will be new divisions offered, since it's very hard for a decorated car to compete with elaborate floats. There will also be new divisions for mounted riders, to be announced later. The rodeo will be produced by the award winning Flying C Rodeo Company and will feature Rodeo Performer Gizmo McCracken. There will be a carnival for the kids, dances each night for mom and dad, “Bull Burgers” in the concession stand, and places to back in your pickup on the Northside of the arena on a first-come-first-serve basis. Rodeo tickets are on sale now and may be purchased from San Saba, Cherokee, and Richland Springs Cheerleaders and from the Dilloettes. The headquarters this year will be the San Saba County Extension Office or you can contact Sandy McHorse at 325-372-4028. So shine the spurs, polish the boots, wash the cars and build the floats. Let's make the 2012 San Saba County Rodeo Parade a return to the past glory days! And get ready for the 74th Annual San Saba County Rodeo and Parade to blow your socks off!
