FM 1480 bridge replacements planned
Thursday, April 26, 2012 • Posted April 26, 2012

The Texas Department of Transportation plans to begin work to replace two bridges on FM 1480 in San Saba County starting April 30.

The road will be blocked at Rabbitt Creek to begin demolishing the bridge the first week of May. The replacement will take about three months, weather permitting. During that time, traffic on the east side of the bridge will need to take alternate routes, such as CR 114.

Crews will then begin work to replace the bridge at Jerry’s Branch. FM 1480 will also need to be blocked at this location throughout the project, which will take about three months. Traffic will need to take alternate routes to get to the east side.

Knife River Corporation of Bryan is the contractor for the project and will complete the work for about $570,000.
