Penny is being sponsored by the San Saba Lumber Company and she will perform a jazz/tap dance entitled "Cool" for her talent competition.Modern Way Grocery of San Saba was selected Store of the Month from a total of 8 stores. Miss Nilah Kuykendall was elected secretary-treasurer and Miss Lucille Russell was elected press reporter.Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Neal arrived at home Friday from Brownwood, where they attended the conclave of the Commandery last week. Mr. Neal is a member of the Brownwood Commandery and reports the banquet one of the prettiest ever.W.R. Smith, our local architect, left Thursday of last week for Clayton, New Mexico, where he went to look at the country.J.M. Chadwick, for whom Chadwick Station on the Sante Fe between here and Lometa was named, was in San Saba Friday on business.Saturday afternoon Mr. W.A. Maxcey and Miss Madie Kirkpatrick were married at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.D. Kirkpatrick. Rev. H.E. Draper, pastor of the Methodist church, officiated.
