Cathy complimented the City Parks Department employees for the outstanding work to keep Mill Pond Park so beautiful and for the City to have a great place for people to enjoy. However, recently when she was there with her grandchildren, she feared for their safety when they were playing on the playground equipment at Mill Pond Park. Families gather in the Gazebo and there is a road between the Gazebo and the playgound area which is dangerous for children. Also, the play-ground equipment is very old and unsafe. The Council has already discussed the situation and will look into financing and community involvement. Norman Pierce was presented the April Employee of the Month Award.
