The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met July 17, 2007 for play day with the Chair for July, Anita Miles, calling for a new game of One Two Three Low Ball.

On the first hole you take the low score, on the second hole you take the two lowest scores, and on the third hold you take the three lowest scores and continue that format for the round.

The team of Anita Miles, Hattie Rogers, and Jo Ann Snow defeated the team of Sandee Hartley, Bobbie Churchill, and Becky Hardin. It was another new fun game that the ladies had not played before. Anita had the Low Gross for the day and Jo Ann had the Low Net.

We have been missing Nell McHorse, as she has been absent with problems with her wrist. Nell is a loyal member and a neat lady that inspires us all, acting as our Club Chaplain.

A few weeks ago, Nell and her husband, George, were on the course with a son and his wife and several grandchildren. It was a delight to watch the family having such a grand time of fun in the sun. I think it took them many hours to finish their round. Another joy of the San Saba Memorial Golf Course, you can play with grandchildren in a group and it is not a problem!

The San Saba Ladies Association is now making plans for the Summer Four Lady Tournament scheduled for August 23, 2008. It is time to get your team together. This is always a great tournament! In the mean time, you’d better be “swinging!”
