Thursday, July 24, 2008 • Posted July 24, 2008

Matthew Barrier graduated July 18, 2008, from the San Diego Marine boot camp with the 277 members of Lima Company. He completed a 13-week training which included close order drills, physical training, academics, combat water survival, close combat skills, marksmanship instruction, and the grueling 54-hour Crucible.

At the completion of the Crucible, Matthew received his eagle, globe, and anchor which made him an official Marine. Private Barrier will report to Camp Pendelton and then to Missouri for further training.
