The Simpson Creek Extension Education Club met Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at the home of Carol Littlefield. The meeting was called to order by President Louise Oswald. By the roll call we had 10 members and 1 guest present. The minutes from our February meeting were read and approved, and the treasurer’s report was given. President Oswald discussed with the group the District Meeting taking place on April 10, 2012 in Ballinger, Texas. San Saba County will be represented by our delegates Faye Currie and Betty Wilson as well as Carolyn McDowell and other chapter members will attend the meeting.Thereafter, the discussion turned towards the May Event which is going to take place at the San Saba Civic Center on May 9. Simpson Creek will be responsible for the lunch meal and we will all contribute a variety of dishes for the lunch. We also discussed our cultural arts entry as well. The meeting was adjourned by President Oswald. A very entertaining and educational program regarding drying food safely at home was presented by Carolyn McDowell, San Saba County Extension Agent. Our hostess, Carol Littlefield presented us with a delicious home-cooked meal afterwards.
