We have had no rain in July. We received 3.5 in the month of July last year.

There were 12 folks in attendance at the community meeting last Saturday night. Vice-president, Jerald Weatherman, presided in the absence of president, Bobby Deeds.

The gospel singing has been set for October 18th. Be sure and tell everyone and help us get the word out. We would like to have a really good turn out. Whether you sing or not, we would like to see you there. Piano players and any other musicians are needed.

It seems Bobby Deeds had some sort of disagreement with a horse and was a little sore for a few days. Curtis Lee had a similar experience with a cow and it sounded like the cow won.

Curtis and Wilma Lee’s daughter, Nancy, is spending a few days with them while she recuperates from a biking accident. I think it is time for some good luck for the Lee family!

There is one more football game of interest in our area. This Friday night, in Lubbock, Tyler Etheridge and Mark Williams will be playing in the Division I East Vs. West game at 7:30 at Lowery Field. I’m sure there will be some home folks that make the trip.

My grandson, Theron Parson, will be heading out for Alpine this Sunday for his freshman orientation at Sul Ross.

Chad Gossett and Carolyn Becker were married on July 12th at the home of Lee and Paula Miller.

Valerie Gossett had the pleasure of keeping her new grand daughter, Kenzie, all week long while the newly weds were on their honeymoon.

On Friday, Valerie had a whole houseful of grandkids and friends and she said they had a great time. I guess most of us will agree, these grandkids as well as great- grandkids are a lot of fun.

Marilyn and I went to Brownwood Saturday where we met Bethany Suber and Lanell, Kelton and Hannah Parson for lunch. We also got in a visit with my sister, Addie Long and her son, Lowell.

Lets keep hoping and praying for rain and maybe these hurricanes will blow something our way.
