The state 2A & under team tennis tournament was completely rained out on March 9-10. We sat in the bus for two days and watched it rain, and did not get one match played. The top four seeds will meet on April 6 in Abilene to play for the state championship. The top four seeded teams were Mason, Brock, Wall and Krum. San Saba was seeded 7th so we will not get to play. We did get to play in the Llano Tournament on March 14. The Varsity and JV played in the tournament. The Armadillos came home with 19 medals. In the Varsity Mixed Doubles Joannah Crosby and Marshal McIntosh kept their unbeaten streak alive as they won four matches to win 1st place. Crosby and McIntosh are now 17 – 0 in mixed doubles. In Varsity Boys Singles Gunnar Hibler won 5 matches in winning 1st place. Jairo Casco won 3rd place and J.T. Holland came in 5th place. In Varsity Girls Singles Lauren Dawson won all 3 of her matches to capture 1st place. Joely Haverland came in 4th place. In Varsity Girls Doubles Josie Dawson and Morgan Jimenez won 2nd place. Karlee Cromer and Kristen Isham took 3rd place. Marissa Anaya and Mikayla Eden came in 4th place. In Varsity Boys Doubles Houston Casco and Josh Raiford won 1st place. Aaron Krueger and Diego Lara won 3rd place. In the JV Boys Doubles Drew Daniel and Emiliano Zapata came in 4th place. In JV Girls Singles A.J. Gamboa came in 5th place. In JV Boys Singles Jantzen Bell came in 6th place.Teams playing in the tournament were Llano, San Saba, Mason, Brady and San Antonio Fox Tech. This week the JV Team will play in the Fredericksburg Tournament on Thursday, March 22. The Varsity will play in the Waco Robinson Tournament on Saturday, March 24.
