Wallace Creek EE Club Meeting held

The Wallace Creek EE Club met March 15, 2012 at the club house.President Lynn Blankenship called the meeting to order. Secretary Doris Cates read the minutes of the February meeting. The minutes were approved as read. Treasurer, Imogene Hawkins gave the treasurer's report. A thank you card was read from the 4-H Youth Fair. The council report was given. May 9th will be the May Event at the Civic Center. The event will include spinning, San Saba County Winery and a fashion show from Harry's with 4-H'rs as models. Spring Fling in Hamilton will be March 26. For details contact the Extension Office at 325-372-5416. The District TEEA meeting will be April 10 in Ballinger. The "Do Well, Be Well Diabetes Classes" are being offered at Rylander Library sponsored by Everett's Pharmacy and the San Saba County Extension office. The classes will be from 5:15 to 7:00 p.m.The program "Drying Foods at Home Safely" was presented by Carolyn McDowell CEA-FCS. She showed samples of different fruits and vegetables she had dried with a dehydrator. The dried foods may be used in foods or eaten as snacks.She explained you can air dry or oven dry foods. If you are interested in drying foods you can contact the Extension office at 325-372-5416.Doris Cates served refreshments to Lynn Blankenship, Jackie Doner, Noma Fitzgerald, Imogene Hawkins, Gloria Lusty, Marilyn Miller, Margie Osborn and guests Lou Etta Cummins and Carolyn McDowell.The next meeting will be April 19th at the Wallace Creek Club House at 2:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to attend.
