Anita House Crown, 73, of Independence, MO passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 surrounded by close family in her home. Visitation for Anita took place from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2012 at Speaks Suburban Chapel, Independence, MO. Services for Anita were at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel with burial following at Swan Lake Memorial Park Cemetery, Grain Valley, MO.Anita was born August 6, 1938 to Elmer and Ollie House in San Saba, TX. She met her loving husband, Gene and moved to Missouri in 1955, where she was an active member of the church, serving most recently with the Beverly Hills Baptist community. Mrs. Crown was also employed by Pace School Bus Service for 18 years and enjoyed demo work at local grocery stores after her retirement. Anita was a generous, kind, woman who served her community well and was so very proud of all her children and grandchildren. She will be missed by all her family and friends who have had their lives forever touched by her.Anita leaves behind her husband of 56 years, Gene Crown; sons, Mike and wife Terry of Independence, MO and Randy and wife Janet of Purdy, MO; daughters, Cindy Oddo and husband Mike of Grain Valley, MO and Debbie Knight and husband Ernie of Wildwood, MO; brothers, Sonny House and wife Donna, twin brother E.M House and wife Linda, and Jerry Mac House, all of Texas; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Anita was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Vicki Lanita Crown; her parents; and sister, Geraldine Williams.Donations in Anita's name can be made to Omega Hospice, 3171 N.E.
