The San Saba Ladies Golf Association met for the monthly business meeting on March 8, 2012 with the president, Anita Miles, calling the meeting to order and Hattie Rogers opened the meeting with prayer. The secretary, Jo Anne Hardy, read the minutes and they were approved as read and the treasurer, Hattie Rogers, gave the financial report. The ladies voted unanimously to make a donation to the Relay for Life Cancer organization. The Four Ball chair, Sandee Hartley, announced that the monthly tournament will be at Hidden Falls on March 15, 2012. The ladies adjourned for play with the chair for March, Dorothy Sterner, calling for a game of playing the holes that begin with the letter T and F, less half your handicap. And Dorothy managed to win first place and the Putt Pot for low putts. Sandee Hartley tied Dorothy for first and scored a birdie and Jo Ann Snow scored a birdie and was second place. Hattie Rogers, Jo Anne Hardy, and Anita Miles played to round out the competition. Pat Ribb joined the ladies for lunch. Last week, when the girls played cards Nell McHorse and Pat Ribb joined in. It’s always good to have those that can’t play any more to join in when they can. The greens are being enlarged and are being finely groomed, which will make the San Saba River Golf Course one of the most beautiful in central Texas. San Saba should be so proud of this asset to our community. It’s a great place to just be ‘swinging!’
