San Saba County Sheriff's Report
Thursday, March 15, 2012 • Posted March 15, 2012

Well, the wonderful rain shut down the plumbing project at the jail, but we're not complaining at all. I am hopeful that we can finish that project by the end of this week but would rather see God bring on the rain. The jail is running smoothly (although I just jinxed us) and we are finishing up our training and moving forward with some new projects.Patrol is running smoothly and we are looking forward to this week and all the visitors at our parks and in town. We were in the parks Monday and they were filling up fast. We were glad to see all the green and even some bluebonnets in the fields. We will be patrolling the parks and the state park over the course of the next ten days to boost up our presence in that area. We are praying for a safe spring break but are prepared for whatever occurs. The deputies are finding several security lights out on buildings and churches throughout the county and are asking your help with this problem. The more lights, the better and leaving certain lights on in high risk areas allows us to note if there is a problem. Motion lights that are working and placed in the right areas work well. We also want to remind everyone that it is wet in the bar ditches along the highways and the county roads, but they are not play grounds. We will be filing charges on anyone caught tearing up these areas and or the middle of the county roads. This charge will be filed in county court and depending on the damage can even be filed as a felony. Please don't put yourself in this position for a few moments of fun.Just a reminder to everyone that even though this is March, we are not voting yet. The Texas primary elections have been postponed again and we are looking at sometime in late May. There is no early voting as of right now and we will do our best to keep you posted on the ever-changing situation.Once again, thank you for all of your prayers and support. Please call in any problems and contact us at 325-372-5551 or 5432 and if it's an emergency then call 911.
