Commissioners hold regular meeting

The San Saba County Commissioners held Court on Monday, March 12th at 9:00 a.m. in the County Judge’s Chambers. County Judge, Byron Theodosis, called the Court to Order and welcomed everyone. Commissioner, Rickey Lusty gave the invocation followed by everyone joining for the pledges to the American and Texas flags.Kyle McAllister, AFLAC representative, gave a presentation of a Section 125/Supplemental Plan of insurance coverage. After discussion, the Court voted to reject changing from Colonial to AFLAC.County Sheriff, Allen Brown, reported on the following: the number of prisoners in jail at the present time is four; the requirements for Jail Standards are near completion; the department has received calls about country bar ditches and fields being damaged from vehicles driving off the road after rains.The following Action Items were approved by the Court:1. The minutes of the previous Commissioners Court.2. The Clerk’s report presented by County Clerk, Kim Wells, approved subject to audit.3.The Treasurer’s report presented by County Treasurer. Gayla Hawkins, approved sub-ject to audit.4. The Justice of the Peace report was approved subject to audit presented by Judge Les Dawson.5. The County Sheriff’s report was approved subject to audit and the Sheriff’s Jail Report was verified by Commissioner, Kenley Kroll.After discussion, action was taken on the following Special and Non-Action Items:A. Approved The City of Goldthwaite to install an untreated water pipeline to transport water from Mill Creek to Goldthwaite’s Off-Channel Reservoir near the Colorado River, Pct. 1.B. Appointed Judge Byron Theodosis to serve another term on the Hill Country Transit District Board; current term expires June 26, 2012.C. Discussed the Courthouse roof repair that will be funded by the Texas Historical Commission Emergency Funds Award.D. Approved to pay bills presented by County Treasurer, Gayla Hawkins. Hawkins recommended that the Court check the EMS budget figures. E. Discussed a county owned building needing repairs for water damage from high pressured equipment. F. The next Commissioners Court will be Monday, March 26th at 9 a.m.County Coordinator, Marsha Hardy, announced that FCC will be making changes to county equipment reprograming to narrowband that will effect the Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department, EMS, City and County communication systems.
