News From Cherokee ISD

It was a short week for Cherokee students. Students and staff enjoyed a four-day weekend as Cherokee elected not to take a full week off for Spring Break this year. Some like the days being spread throughout the spring semester, while others aren’t used to not having a full week off. Like life, changes always challenge us! Our elementary students participated in benchmark testing last week and teachers are eager to see test results. The FFA members spoke to students about the many opportunities through FFA. The 2nd and 3rd graders celebrated filling their marble jars in Miss Irick’s class. Students were able to come to school in pajamas. As my 2nd grader reported, it was “awesome getting up and coming to school in pajamas”! Don’t we all wish we could?!Students will be released at 12:50 p.m. on Wednesday. Our high school track athletes will participate in the Zephyr meet on Thursday. Field events begin at 4:00. Junior high track will travel to Zephyr on Monday, March 5. The meet begins at 3:30. I
