Joyful Noise shows at the Lantex this week-end
Thursday, March 1, 2012 • Posted March 1, 2012

The Llano Band Boosters will show “Joyful Noise” at the LanTex, Friday, March 2 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 3, at 4:00 and 7:30 p.m. The small town of Pecashau, Georgia has fallen on hard times, but the people are counting on the Divinity Church Choir to lift their spirits by winning the National Joyful Noise Competition. However, the director of the church choir unexpectedly dies so the job of leading the group is taken over by Vi Rose Hill, played by Queen Latifah, a no nonsense single mother of two. G.G. Sparrow, played by Dolly Parton thinks it is time to shake things up and try something new in the upcoming competition. The group has always known how to sing in harmony, but the discord between the two leading ladies now threatens to tear them apart. Vi wants to stick with their tried-and-true traditional style, while the fiery G.G.thinks tried-and-true translates to tired-and-old.To make matters worse, G.G’s rebellious grandson, Randy comes into town only to fall in love with Vi’s beautiful and talented daughter, a match neither woman is prepared to accept and causes even more heat between G.G.and Vi. The choir all of a sudden finds itself falling apart at the seams. If these two strong-willed women can overcome their differences and find a common voice, they, and their choir may make the most joyful noise of all. $1.00 off coupons are available at the stores, banks, and restaurants and on:www.lantextheater.com. Hot popcorn, candy, and sodas are always there at the concessions. See you at the LanTex, this week-end.
