This spring semester is no different; however, there will be a change to the format. Parents will get to choose sessions of their interest. To kickoff the event, a Parent Celebration Meal will be hosted in the high school and elementary cafeterias at 5:00pm on March 5th. All parents are invited! During the meal there will be updates about things parents can do to help and stay involved with their child’s education. There will be information provided to help parents stay informed about the school’s programs and opportunities for students. At 6:00pm parents will be able to go to individual campuses and choose from a number of breakout sessions led by program leaders, teachers, or consultants from the Regional Service Center. Do you have questions about the Gifted and Talented Program, English as a Second Language, Dyslexia, CSCOPE, or Higher Science Skills? There will be a session for you! More sessions are being added daily! Check the website for more information. Breakout sessions will last from approximately 6:00pm to 7:30pm. A final session will conclude that evening at 7:30pm in the high school cafeteria to discuss the state assessments. Students in grades 3-11 will be responsible for taking a state assessment this spring. Parents, do you know exactly what this means for your child? If not, please attend the last session of the night to learn more! Information about the San Saba ISD Parent Academy is posted on the website under the campus information. Changes are made weekly as additions are added. Look for a newsletter to accompany your child’s Thursday folder or in the mail in late February! Remember to Save the Date—Monday, March 5th is THE SAN SABA ISD PARENT ACADEMY!!
