Sticks and Strings
Thursday, February 16, 2012 • Posted February 16, 2012

What can you do with sticks and strings? Plenty if you know how to knit or crochet! Knitting has been practiced by men and women around the world for thousands of years while crochet is just a bit more modern. These crafts are easy to learn, fun and allow you to make an endless variety of things including toys, clothes, hats, blankets, socks, dog sweaters, decorations, jewelry and of course, sweaters. San Saba County 4-H is starting a knitting and crochet project group that is open to boys and girls on Tuesday, February 28th. The group will be led by Cathy Ledbetter, who is sure the world would be a much happier place if everyone knew how to knit or crochet. The group will meet from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Rylander Library. Cost of the class is $10.00 which will be used to purchase supplies. The group will meet each Tuesday for six weeks. For more information or to register for the class, please call the San Saba County AgriLife Extension office at 325-372-55416. Any school age youth is eligible to participate.
