Stroke & Osteoporosis Screenings in San Saba

Residents living in and around the San Saba, Texas community can be screened to reduce their risk of having a stroke or bone fracture. San Saba Civic Center will host Life Line Screening on 3/1/2012. The site is located at 705 East Wallace Street in San Saba. Heino Erichsen from The Woodlands, TX, participated in a Life Line Screening event in January of 2009 and learned that he had an abdominal aortic aneurysm and a blockage in his carotid artery. Pre-registration is required.Screenings identify potential cardiovascular conditions such as blocked arteries and irregular heart rhythm, abdominal aortic aneurysms, and hardening of the arteries in the legs, which is a strong predictor of heart disease. A bone density screening to assess osteoporosis risk is also offered and is appropriate for both men and women. Many sites offer finger-stick blood tests to check for cholesterol and glucose.Packages start at 149. All five screenings take 60-90 minutes to complete. Life Line Screening was established in 1993, and has since become the nation’s leading provider of preventive screenings.
