Lady Dillo Basketball Report
Thursday, February 9, 2012 • Posted February 9, 2012

This past week the Lady Dillos faced the Bangs Lady Dragons and the Hamilton Lady Bulldogs. First up, the Lady Dillos hosted Bangs. The Lady Dragons came into this game needing to win in order to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Lady Dillos looked to spoil their plans. San Saba came out hot and led 15-8 after the 1st quarter. However, Bangs battled back and ended up taking a 22-25 lead into halftime. The Lady Dragons broke the game open in the 3rd quarter and eventually defeated the Lady Dillos, 35-52. I felt like we did a lot of positive things in this game. We were just unable to bounce back when Bangs went on a 10-0 run to end the 3rd quarter. Bangs is a very physical team and they hurt us on the boards. We gave them too many 2nd chance opportunities and they made us pay for them. Scoring for the Lady Dillos in this game were A. Maxcey, 3; Saldivar, 7; M. Maxcey, 8; Pulatie, 5; Turner, 4; and Bauerschlag, 8.The Lady Dillos then hosted Hamilton on Friday. We were able to jump on the Lady Bulldogs right from the start. I told the girls that we needed to come out aggressive and set the tempo for the game and we were able to do just that. Our full court pressure gave them lots of trouble and we were able to create a lot of turnovers that led to easy baskets for us. The Lady Dillos defeated Hamilton by a score of 46-29. Scoring for the Lady Dillos were A. Maxcey, 7; Kutin, 4; Saldivar, 6; M. Maxcey, 11; Pulatie, 4; Turner, 6; and Bauerschlag, 8.
