The JV boys played Bangs in Armadillo Arena on Tuesday January 31. This was the third meeting of the season, the 2nd time in district play. Previously Bangs defeated the young Dillos by four in the Hico tournament. Earlier in district play, the Dillos beat the Dragons by two. This time the JV Dillos lost a close game by the score of 30-35. Bangs jumped out early and led at halftime by nine. The young Dillos fought back and gained the lead late in the 4th quarter, but were unable to hold on for the win. Scoring for the Dillos: Garrett Welch (5), Kolton Ellis (2), Luis Vega (4), Isaac Zepeda (2), Kelton Brown (14), Dallas Caldwell (3).On Friday February the 3rd, the Dillos were trying to get back on track against the Dublin JV. This was the second meeting of the year, the first one the Dillos won by 16 points. This game was much closer, and Dublin led at halftime. Again the 2nd half was better for the Dillos, and the boys ended up winning that game by the score of 37-32. Scoring for the JV: Welch (6), Ellis (6), Vega (5), Zepeda (1), Brown (9), Marcus Sterling (5), and Caldwell (5).This week the boys will be traveling to Coleman on Tuesday, and to Hico on Friday evening. The boys will finish there season next Tuesday at home when we host Comanche.
