The Richland Springs Report

I don’t know what that last “norther” blew in, but my system doesn’t like it at all. Of course the joy of all joys is getting up in the middle of the night to take a puppy walk. That cold northern wind just blew right through my jacket. I would like to have had that fur coat the puppy was wearing. Apparently cold weather doesn’t bother him. He runs and plays, and doesn’t pay attention to that old cold wind. The down side of our weather was the lack of rain. Thank God for our last rain, but crops need rain. Our farmers and ranchers are trying to grow feed for the long hot summer. We cannot go through another dry summer feeding animals. We need a good rain. The teachers are putting together a team to take part in the March Walk for Life. Candi Lewis and Valerie Gossett are working up a shirt for the “Richland Team”. We had a great time last year. I think I should be in better shape this year since I spend more time running around chasing a puppy. I may even make him walk in this thing. I hope we have a great turn out from Richland Springs.I spoke with Lara Smith this week. Her house is coming along. New houses are exciting, but they are also nerve wracking. I know she will be glad to get into her permanent home, even though that little one is too cute for words. Both Emily and Krystal are doing well in school. For the life of me I can’t remember if Crystal is with a K or a C. Sorry Lara.We have some serious sickness around. Some is sickness of the spirit, some of the body and some is financial and emotional. Please pray for Kenneth Powell. He will need all the strength he has to overcome this cancer in his body. Weldon Faught is moving a little slow, but we praise God he is moving and taking up his normal activities. Our government and our President need prayer as well. Please pray for our precious troops and their families. I spoke with Scott; he was headed out to do watch tower guard duty. That is scary in and of itself. We had the pleasure of young Jonathan Phelan’s company. He has completed his basic training and is working on his technical training. He reminds me of Scott, fresh out of high school, and ready to tame the world. What a delightful picture. I wish him all the best. May God bless our troops and please bless our country. Have a great week everyone.
