The Super Bowl is over at last and now if we could just get away from all the political stuff that is going on it would be so nice. Our country is in a big mess and the more you hear the worse it gets. If we could just roll back to the more gentle times in the country like you can do on your computers it would be nice.St. Valentine’s day is just around the corner, next week to be exact. Hope everyone has plans to get their sweety the perfect Valentine. That special box of candy, flowers or maybe just a special dinner would be really nice or all of the above.Geoff, Lindsay and son Henry Millican from San Antonio was in over the weekend visiting his parent’s Pat and Bonnie Millican. Bonnie reported that Henry jabbers all the time and they are worried that when he starts to talk clearly they will all have to wear earplugs in order to get some relief if he talks as much as he jabbers. All babies seem to know what they are saying even if the adults can’t understand them.Patsy Henniger reported that her sister Mary Pike and her daughter Cindy Parker of Midland were in at their mobile home for the weekend. While Cindy celebrated a 50-year reunion with a classmate, Mary stayed with Patsy and they caught up on all the family news.Sylvia Stinnett reported that Jimmy received a good report from his doctor and is some improved, but request that you keep him in your prayers. She also reported that they have had a couple of Blue birds that have stayed all year long at their place and they are now looking forward to the return of the Martins.Jane Clark reported that Lillie Belle Marley who is in Spring Oaks at Lampasas was reported to be improving and working toward getting to come back to the Bend before too long.Kristi Messer, Jamie Houdy-shell and Jane Clark went to Harker Heights Saturday. While there they saw the movie “One for the Money” and afterward had a bite to eat. Jane reported that it was a really good movie.Tommie and Jane Tinney reported that they had a visit from grandkids, Brady, Nicholas and Erica Freeland from Grand Prairie. The boys had fun shooting a 22 while sister Erica enjoyed what little girls most like to do, which is putting on makeup.The Bend community meeting will be February 18 and the entertainment will be provided by the Pausewang family of Goldthwaite. Mark your calendar so you won’t forget to come and enjoy the music.Happy birthday greetings go out to Peggy Whittenburg and Clovis Gibson who will be celebrating a birthday February 10, to Toni Mayben who will be celebrating a birthday February 13, to Sammy Johnson who will celebrate a birthday February 16.
