Dorothy Ellen Reavis, 81 of Oakalla, TX passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at Heart Hospital of Austin.Dorothy was born June 16, 1930 in Belton, TX to John Thomas Hunt and Dixie Zell Ray Hunt. On August 31, 1946 Dorothy married Leonard Barton Reavis. He preceded her in death May 1, 1969.Dorothy was a member of Maxdale Baptist Church, an avid quilter and an artist and loved to paint.Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sherrie Broyles and husband Paul Henry of Cherokee; daughter-in-law, Debra Ann Reavis of Oakalla; sister, Sis Beck of Killeen; sister-in-law, Joann Reavis of Oakalla; brother-in-law, Bobby Reavis of Killeen; grandchildren, John Thomas Reavis, Kyle Allan Reavis, Megan Ann Reavis, Alex Broyles, Walt Broyles and great grandchildren, Chase Maddox, Brenlea Broyles, Laney Lastly, Kimbrea Broyles and Cealey Broyles; several nieces and nephews.Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, son, Eugene Barton Reavis and one brother, John Ray Hunt.Visitation was held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 3, 2012. Services for Dorothy were at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 4, at Tobey Cemetery, Oakalla, TX with Pastor Jimmy Towers officiating.Pallbearers were J.T. Reavis, Kyle Reavis, Alex Broyles, Walt Broyles, Mike Johnson and Larry Johnson. Services are under the direction of Sheppard Funeral Home, Copperas Cove, TX.
