Relay for Life Kick Off Dinner a success

The 2012 Kick Off Dinner for the San Saba County Relay for Life benefitting the American Cancer Society was held on February 2 at the Church of Christ's Fellowship Hall. There was representation from Cherokee, San Saba, and Richland Springs. The theme, "Cruising for a Cure for Cancer... Get On Board" was approved. There were many plans made for fund-raisers to help San Saba County meet its goal. These are a few of the events planned:February 18 - Valentine's Dinner - Cherokee Home for Children Gym, 6 p.m., $25.00 per couple, call 325-622-4201 to make reservations.February 25 - Search for the Stars Talent Contest - Civic Center, 6:30 p.m., call Kay Lynn Scott at 325-372-8600 or performancetalent@yahoo.com for entry forms.March 17 - "Never Surrender" 5K Walk/Run - Mill Pond Park, contact Marci Moreno for more information, 325-452-3278.June (Date TBA) - Golf Tournament - San Saba River Golf Course (Do you know any celebrities who might participate?)
