FSA accepting emergency loan applicatons
Thursday, February 2, 2012 • Posted February 2, 2012

San Saba County was declared eligible for Farm Service Agency (FSA) disaster emergency loans on January 3, 2012. Generally, that means that farmers who have lost at least 30 percent of their production due to damages and losses caused by drought, excessive heat, high winds and wildfires beginning January 1, 2011 and continuing, are eligible for FSA loans. Proceeds from crop insurance are taken into consideration when determining eligibility.FSA Farm Loan Manager, Paul S Cline, is urging farmers who are interested in receiving an emergency loan to submit their applications into FSA as soon as possible. Paul said, “We hope farmers will get their applications in early rather than waiting until near the deadline, which is September 4, 2012. The longer they wait, the more chance there is for long delays. If the applications come in early, we can avoid backlogs and speed up the process.” The FSA office is located at 3514 Devonian Drive, Suite B., San Angelo, TX. The telephone number is (325)653-1246.
