Last week was another full week of activities in Cherokee! On Monday, the junior high traveled to Rochelle. Both teams went into overtime and, unfortunately, both teams lost. On Friday, our varsity teams hosted Lohn. The Lady Indians came out strong and never wavered, winning the game convincingly. The Indians followed suit, defeating the Eagles. On Saturday, the junior high hosted their 4th annual basketball tournament. Both boys and girls played Lohn in the first round. They took notes from Friday night’s varsity players, defeating the Eagles and setting themselves in the championship game. The girls played tough but turnovers and missed shots found them falling to the Rochelle Hornets. The boys also played Rochelle. They provided a heart-stopping performance and defeated the Hornets. Congratulations to both teams! Thank you to all volunteers that helped during the tournament. It was another successful event that showed once again how hard this community works to accomplish tasks. This week is another full week of activities. On Monday, the junior high hosted Richland Springs for their final district game.
