Elm Grove Echoes
Thursday, February 2, 2012 • Posted February 2, 2012

After the good rains last week and the warm sunny days we are having, the countryside is really getting pretty and green. I wonder if the Algerita bushes are blooming, yet. We are kicking off another new month starting with Ground Hog Day on the 2nd. Maybe old Phil won’t see his shadow and spring will be just around the corner. The 42 tournament will be in Mercury this month on the 11th. The Busy Bee quilters will meet at Irene Hammett’s house on the 14th. The last community meeting was held at Elm Grove on the 21st of January. The same officers were re-elected. They are, President, Gerald Weatherman, Vice President, Carroll Teague and Bobby Deeds will serve as Secretary-Treasurer. All three of these men have done a good job and we certainly do appreciate their willingness to serve another term. The President appointed me to be the community reporter, again. The next community meeting will be Feb. 18th at 7:30 PM. Please make plans to attend. We were so happy to hear Weldon Faught’s surgery for the cancer was a huge success. I look forward to the day when we see him driving his horse drawn wagon through town! I believe the Super Bowl will be played this weekend. I don’t care who wins, the Cowboys are not in it.
