The Simpson Creek Extension Education Club met Wednesday, January 18, 2012 at the home of Barbara Porter. The meeting was called to order by President Louise Oswald. By the roll call we had 8 members and 1 guest present. The minutes from our December meeting were read and approved, and the treasurer’s report was given. Faye Currie gave a report from the January 6 San Saba Extension Education Council meeting. Council President Carol Littlefield stated that extension club members were requested to bring cookies and brownies for the 4-H Youth Fair to the Extension Agent’s office at the Courthouse before Friday, January 20, or to the Rodeo grounds Friday morning. The February meetings of all of the EE Clubs in the county will meet at the Rylander Library, February 15 at 2:00 p.m. The program will be “Flowers and Insects” by Terry Fischer.Lunch and Learn will be February 29 at the Civic Center, at noon. The program will be the two candidates running for sheriff, Allen Brown and Steve Boyd.It was decided that Faye Currie would be our delegate to be voted on at the February council meeting to attend the District Meeting being held in Ballinger, Texas on April 10, 2012. The meeting was adjourned by President Oswald. A very enlightening program regarding products made in the United States of America was presented by Mary Jane Dennis from the Bend-Chappel Extension Club. Afterwards refreshments were enjoyed by all.
