San Saba Friends of NRA closes out successful year
Thursday, February 2, 2012 • Posted February 2, 2012

The San Saba County Friends of the NRA closed out a successful 2011 by raising more than ten thousand dollars for the furtherance of shooting sports in Texas and the Nation. Half of this money will remain in Texas and will be distributed through grants to youth sporting and education programs including the 4-H and FFA programs and the Boy Scouts. In addition, grants have been awarded to local Law Enforcement Training Programs and Hunter Education Programs. In past years, the San Saba 4-H shooting Program has benefited from these grants. The other half of the raised funds go to the NRA Foundation which supports such programs as The Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Program (provided to schools), Hunters for the Hungry, Law Enforcement Training, as well as others. Please Join the SSCFNRA in 2012 and support the future of hunting, shooting, and the 2nd Amendment. Your participation and support is welcomed and definitely needed for this worthy cause. Also, make plans to attend the San Saba County Friends of the NRA Banquet on June 7th for a chance to win the 2012 Gun of the Year in addition to other great firearms and shooting related items. For more information call Macy Ledbetter @ 361-449-6376, Speedy La Fond @956-346-5676, or Paula Singleton @ Duke’s Ammo & More @325-372-3209.
