Last Friday ended the 3rd week of the 4th six-week grading period. Student notices of concern will be mailed this week. The 2010-2011 yearbooks are available for $25. See Pam Starr to purchase a yearbook before they are all gone! The Lady Coyotes are 9-11 on the season and 0-7 in district play. The varsity boys are 1-5 on the season and 1-5 in district play. Both teams played Rochelle at Richland Springs on Tuesday. Both varsity teams will play Menard at Menard on Friday, January 27 at 6:30. The junior high teams played Lometa at Richland Springs this past Monday at 6 p.m. Come to the games and watch our young athletes.Thanks to San Saba Young Farmers, the volunteers, and the buyers who made the 2012 San Saba County Stock Show a success. Gerald McKee announced results for Richland Springs students. Overall, Richland Springs students won 2 overall Grand Champions, 3 Reserve Grand Champions, 6 Breed Champions, and 6 Reserve Breed Champions. Bralei Lusty was also recognized as Junior Goat Showman and Junior Lamb Showman. At the premium sale on Saturday, 31 Richland Springs students sold 36 animals for a grand total of $30,000. Wow!The San Saba County Youth Fair also was held at the Civic Center this past weekend. The quality of Richland Springs student entries showed great improvement over last year. All student entries were enjoyed by the judges. Kenneth Faught was the Overall Winner in the Education category. Jacey Gossett was the Overall Winner in the Poster category. Thanks to the parents and teachers who encourage these students to participate in the Youth Fair.It’s great to see our community supporting students in their efforts to achieve. We have a great community, students, teachers and staff. It takes everyone working together to achieve success. Community involvement is the key to success.
